Daily Behavior Communication
- Reinforces the skills we are learning in school.
- Homework will be assigned each day in a red homework folder.
- Develop your child’s study habits by setting aside a specific place and time for homework.
Math
- assignments will be given nightly and due the following day.
- Spend a maximum of 20 minutes on math homework.
- 3 Circle Rule: If your child is struggling with a problem, attempt it with them a total of 3 times, circling the problem after every failed attempt. If after the 3rd try (and 3rd circle), they are still not understanding the problem, leave a note for me on their assignment log so I can work with them on the problem in class the following day.
- Sent home at the beginning of the week as a packet
- Turned in Fridays
Reading
- Required reading is 20 minutes each night. It may seem hard some nights, but consistent practice will increase your child’s fluency and comprehension!
Daily Behavior Communication
- You will be able to view your students daily behavior on the assignment log that will be inside the red homework folder. In 2nd grade, the expectation is that students turn in their homework on the day it is due. Students that do not turn in their homework on time will pull their card on the behavior chart.
